October 2012

October was chalk full of activities for our family.  We went to a couple museums, started some hard core potty training, and lots of Halloween fun!

We went with Nannie to the AZ Museum of Natural History.  This museum has a lot of different exhibits; we didn't make it through them all, but I want to go back with Brian since he hasn't been there yet.

Andie looking at all of the "pretty" rocks.

She was very polite and shook the statue's hand.

Pterodactyl (yes I just googled that) rocking horse.

Andie loves to read.  This might be an understatement actually.  She gets obsessed with certain books for awhile because she likes to memorize them.  This one is called "Fancy Nancy Sees Stars".  It is about how Fancy Nancy and her class are going to the planetarium.  We thought it would be fun to take Andie to the planetarium just like Fancy Nancy.  So we went to the AZ Science Center and they have a planetarium show just for little kids and it was awesome.  She had such a great time I would like to go back.  We ended up going around the Science Center and decided that is better for older kids, but we want to go to the Children's Museum in Phoenix sometime because we hear it is great for younger kids.

Here we are watching the "volcano" show.  They make fake volcanos using household products.

 David wasn't too impressed.

The Center did have this really cool simulation where you experienced different types of weather depending on where you live.  It was fun to watch Andie get all excited and then in some parts she wasn't so sure about the whole idea.

This picture might have been where they had thunder or as Andie would say "th....funder" (She loves to say the "th" sound then say funder)

Looking through the telescope.  They had different images going across it as you look through.

This time of year we love to bake!  I now have a little helper.

My little helper loves to line things up no matter what she is doing.  She lined up all the measuring cups for me wasn't that so nice of her :)

Getting ready to go to Nannie and Papa's Halloween party!

Cutest unicorn ever!

Ready to go!

We played pin the bow tie on the ghost.  Ashley pretty much nailed it on her first try and after that everyone just needed to feel for her bow tie and put theirs on top of hers.

Can you tell she is having fun!

Pumpkin bowling was a huge hit.  There was candy in the cans so whatever cans you knocked over you got to keep what was inside.

We have a purple crayon, a diva, Hermione Granger, and a tie dye witch waiting for their turn.  Love the attitude Ash!
I wanted some pictures of David in his costume before it got too small so I took this at the beginning of the month and yes by the end of the month it was pretty snug.

On Halloween day we were going to get together with Erin and so I asked if she wouldn't mind taking some pictures of the kids so we had a little photo shoot.  Thanks Erin for the super cute pics!  P.S. We had the pumpkin donuts from Dunkin Donuts for a treat afterward  and they were delicious!

I love this one.  We have THE cutest kids!  (I'm sure every mother thinks that though)

This picture of David makes me laugh.  He is a really happy little boy who loves to smile and laugh all the time.

I thought this was a sweet picture of Andie.  She is such a cute little girl who loves to have fun.

Ready to go trick-or-treating!  We changed David into a simple skeleton onesie since his costume was just too small!  This little or should I say big boy might eat us out of house and home.  He is only six months old and almost weighs 20 pounds.  Only six more pounds and he will weigh as much as Andie!

Halloween night we made some jack-o'-lantern pizzas.  It was a great night and a wonderful fun filled month!  We are now getting ready for Thanksgiving and having a great time decorating for fall and buying baking supplies!  I love this time of year!
